First and foremost, I am an artist. I will always be an artist. Art will always come before fame for me.

That being said, this is an illustration on.. Well, lots of things. There’s a lot of emphasis placed on “good” art. I find beauty in a lot of very simple things. Jackson Pollack, Matisse’s later works, and some of Picasso’s simple figures helped shape a good chunk of my younger art life. I can find art and purpose in almost anything. That doesn’t mean I don’t find some art tacky. Tacky art is still art, whether I agree with it or not.

Simply put, I was commenting on sometimes feeling like my art “isn’t good enough” for the art snobs. As I got older, I realised that my idea of art and theirs are plainly not the same.
